Kristen Kansiewicz, PhD, LPC is an assistant professor of counseling at Evangel University and Program Director of the graduate counseling program. She teaches research, assessment, and Christian Integration courses and conducts research on clergy well-being.

Throughout her career, Kristen has been bringing clinical mental health services into church settings. In addition to her own counseling practice, Kristen served as the founder and executive director of Church Therapy Associates which provided low-cost mental health care at partner churches and trains Master’s-level counseling interns.

In 2012, Kristen started writing about her work and created the Church Therapy model of Christian counseling. This model emphasizes partnerships between pastors and counselors to bring professional mental health treatment where Christians most often look for help — the church. Kristen began offering workshops in churches in 2014, creating the content for her Christian self-help books.

Kristen began writing free daily devotionals at FreedomForToday.com in 2017. She has a passion for exploring themes of emotional freedom in the Bible. Her Mark series is now available in paperback and offers a simple introduction to the Bible for new believers or seekers. This book makes a great gift for churches to add to their first-time guest welcome bags.
